East Lancs Riders

East Lancs Riders started out in 2021 with just a few friends coming together to do what they love, ride motorcycles safely and have fun. We are all passionate about motorcycling and between us have a wealth of knowledge and experience about the matter. One of the Committee members, Iain Begg, is a highly experienced Police Class 1 rider, professional coach and RoSPA Examiner, so we know exactly what is needed to get through the test and achieve the highest civilian qualification possible, the RoSPA ‘Gold’. However, we want to go further than just that. We want to empower you to be intuitive and develop your thought processes when riding. This is something that you cannot learn from reading a book and only comes with years of riding experience.

We started the group to offer training to riders that live in the East of Lancashire specifically, but living where we do, we have the fantastic and scenic roads of The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales on our doorstep where we can ride. All our tutors hold the ‘Gold’ qualification, meaning they ride to a very high standard, but it doesn’t stop there. They are chosen for their ability to coach and get the best from their students. All coaches are QA'd regularly to ensure they remain top in their game.

If you are already a RoSPA member, you are welcome to join us and participate in our social activities, or perhaps brush up on your riding with one of our tutors or examiners. If you hold an Advanced Qualification with another recognised agency, you are welcome to join as a Group Member. There is no requirement to undertake a RoSPA test, although of course we will encourage you to do so. (see Join Here)

Our door is always open to new members, no matter their experience level.
